Botanical Christmas decor

Botanical Christmas decor

If you need a different take on the Christmas decor this year, go botanical. Take a branch from a tree in your garden, use cotton for your wreath, use coconut shells for your Christmas table and enjoy the winter white color palette this year. Reuse and vintage go well with Christmas anno 2018.

Use your vintage ornaments together with little straw flower heads, on a branch from a tree, this is a Chinese Elm branch.

Half coconuts filled with floral foam, white hydrangeas (preserved) and strawflower heads. Add some white light flowers like these dried ones (Michaels). The winter white snow covered trees (Michaels) look adorable spread around the table. For real candles go to IKEA.

Use a straw wreath (8-10 inches) and a gluegun to attach the cotton stems (shorten them to half an inch).
Hang on the wall or place little candle holders in the center. Use vintage lace ribbon (Fashion District DTLA) and a vintage ornament (eBay) to add the atmosphere of Christmas.

It's easy to make things look like Christmas, whilst you work on your decor. Arrange a few ornaments in a cute box and light a candle. Voila!

A shelf full of winter white flowers is also a way to do the botanical Christmas this year. Preserved hydrangeas and dried flowers (Michaels) look delicate, poetic and different arranged in a group of vintage green cups and vases (Bauer Pottery). Sprinkle silver dust on them for even more snow white effect.

White tulips and white kalla lillies are perfect for a white botanical Christmas.
